For everyone’s safety, Thursday Musical strongly recommends all audience members to wear a non-cloth mask such as a N95, KN95, KF94, or surgical mask inside of the recital hall.

Dragan Stojkovic is a native of Belgrade, Serbia, where he received a bachelor of Music degree at the Music Academy. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts and a Master of Music degrees in violin performance from the University of Minnesota. Dragan has been a violin and viola teacher and a freelance violinist for over twenty years in the Twin Cities. He currently teaches at home, and is a violin instructor at Normandale Community College. Locally he has performed with the Minnesota Opera, Vocal Essence, Minnesota Sinfonia and other ensembles.

Since receiving her Master’s degree in 2013, Aja Majkrzak has performed with many regional orchestras and is currently concertmaster of the East Metro Symphony Orchestra and section violin in the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra. Her orchestral experiences have given her the opportunity to share the stage with performers like Leila Josefowicz, Audra McDonald, and Gil Shaham. Aja is a faculty member at the Saint Paul Conservatory of Music, an Artist Member of Thursday Musical, and can be found on Instagram @violiningaja.

In an effort to make classical music more fun and approachable, Aja started a podcast called Pour Me A Mozart. The show combines her bartending background with her passion for sharing classical music. Pour Me A Mozart is available wherever you find podcasts.

While orchestral playing is the focus of her career, Aja also performs with the Cuban jazz group Charanga Tropical. In June 2015 she traveled to Havana, Cuba with the group to become the first band from the US to participate in the International Danzon Festival.

If she is not making music you can find Aja with her two cats, Dexter and Cindy Lou Who, cooking vegetarian meals, mixing craft cocktails, and attempting to keep her plants alive.

At home collaborating with vocalists and instrumentalists, Dr. Carson Rose Schneider is a versatile pianist who works as a duo partner, coach, music director, and rehearsal pianist with opera companies, chamber groups, and choirs. She has performed around the United States and Europe.

Based in the Twin Cities, she has worked for companies throughout the Midwest including Skylark Opera Theatre, Out of the Box Opera, St Croix Valley Opera, Lyric Opera of the North, AOT, Really Spicy Opera, Bay View Music Festival, Lakes Area Music Festival, and Fargo-Moorhead Opera. She is currently the Music Director at Skylark Opera, and is also the coordinator and pianist for Skylark Opera’s Skylark for Seniors program. In addition to an active performing life, Carson has a private coaching and recording studio, where she records audition videos and other projects with singers and instrumentalists. She is also the Music Director at Union Congregational Church United Church of Christ in Elk River.
