Vivace Fundraiser, Young Artist Scholarship Applications, & Performing Member Auditions

I am writing to you today on behalf of the Board of Directors of Thursday Musical. We are announcing the start of our 2024-25 Vivace Initiative.
As you may know, we are back with a 3rd full season of live concerts! This is so encouraging! Have you attended a concert and heard all the wonderful music making? Have you viewed a performance on YouTube (concert replays)?
And yet, like so many non-profit arts organizations, the post-pandemic financial challenge continues for Thursday Musical. The TM Board continues to work on building our audience and membership numbers. Our audiences are growing, but membership numbers are still down when compared to Fall, 2019 (pre-pandemic).
As you may know, the Vivace Initiative is targeted specifically on the General Operating Fund. Thursday Musical must raise additional monies to meet all our operating expenses. This initiative is an important part our effort to keep Thursday Musical financially secure. The General Operating Fund covers specific expenses - printing, mailing, our Operations Manager’s salary, and accounting costs. This fund plays a crucial part in supporting and sustaining Thursday Musical’s fine music programs.
A note on membership and donations: While yearly membership dues help fund operating expenses, they also support Artist Series Concerts, Community Concerts, Salon Series Concerts (they have returned!), our prestigious Student Competition, and the Winners Concert. At $95 (or $85) for the season, this is truly a ‘value-added’ membership! And your generous donations support both the Artistic Endowment Fund and the Student Award Fund. Thank you.
The Vivace Initiative helps us sustain all we do. Through this fundraising effort, we can continue to offer membership at an affordable price and secure both the short and long-term stability of Thursday Musical.
